Ecuador · Parking guidance
At Riocentro Shopping Quito in Ecuador, AKE’s project record identifies 1,080 parking spaces served by ultrasonic guidance. The site photographs show the system in context: green bay indicators run along the aisles, while lettered columns help drivers recognise their zone.

Making a large indoor car park easier to navigate
A visitor approaching the photographed junction must decide which aisle to use. The supplied ultrasonic detectors and indicators address visibility at the parking space; guidance displays and the controller network carry occupancy information to the points where drivers choose a route. Together, these functions help organise the search for an available space.

Project scale and order history
| Order year | Recorded area | Spaces in that year’s orders | Cumulative spaces |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | Parking guidance | 1,080 | 1,080 |
The available project schedule records one supply period, from June to July 2022. It includes 1,080 ultrasonic detectors and 1,080 indicators, supported by 20 controllers, five indoor guidance displays and communication equipment. No separate repeat order is identified in this project’s current records.

Where the project can go next
The following are proposed upgrades, separate from the recorded installation.
Begin with the junctions and lettered zones visible in the photos. Compare the signs with observed occupancy, check arrows from a driver’s approach angle, and keep the same zone names on signs, pedestrian routes and any future car-finding map.
Indoor and underground parking
Place pay stations and car-finder kiosks on the return route from the shopping centre. A plate-based finder needs video detection and a maintained plate-to-space map. Retain the existing ultrasonic network where it continues to provide reliable occupancy data.
Gated outdoor parking
For controlled entrances or exits, STAR PMS, card terminals and barrier gates can support visitor credentials and departure checks. Confirm payment synchronisation, failed-payment handling and operator assistance before commissioning.
Open outdoor parking
An outdoor extension could use video bollards for compatible views, geomagnetic sensors for occupancy, or curbside devices for suitable parallel bays. Define how those outdoor events join the indoor parking record without duplicate charges.
The 1,080-space figure is taken from the project’s historical parking-space record. It is not inferred from the photograph, the display numbers or the purchased equipment.
